How high does a dog fence need to be?

Minimum recommendations: 4 feet for small dogs, 5-6 feet for medium dogs, and 6 feet for large or athletic dogs. Some breeds like German Shepherds or Huskies may require even taller fencing. We assess your specific dog’s size and jumping ability to recommend the right height.

What's the best fence to keep a dog from digging out?

For determined diggers, we install dig-guard protection by burying wire mesh or extending the fence 12-18 inches underground along the fence line. We can also pour a concrete footer. Chain link with buried wire is the most cost-effective solution.

Can an invisible fence replace a physical fence?

We don’t recommend invisible fences as a complete solution. They don’t keep other animals or people out of your yard, they can fail if your dog is highly motivated, and they don’t provide physical security. A real fence is always the better choice for true pet safety.

What if I have multiple pets of different sizes?

We design for your smallest pet while ensuring the fence is tall enough for your largest. For example, a 6-foot fence with 2-inch spacing works for households with both small and large dogs.

Will my dog be able to see through the fence?
